I’ve sold both my steampunk stories–one is set during the Boxer Rebellion in late Imperial China, and the other set in 1920’s New Zealand. In these stories are clockwork Terra Cotta warriors, robotic Moa, unsavory villains, tattoo magic, New Zealand’s native dragon-like taniwhas, and much more.
My story “A Faint Drumming, A Red Flame,” which sort of tells the further adventures of the “half-breeds” and outcasts mentioned in Lovecraft’s Call of Cthulhu, will appear in an issue of Tales of the Talisman this fall.
And my story “The Society of Righteous and Harmonious Fists,” a tale of a young English girl who journeys to meet her father in fin de siecle China but instead is kidnapped by warriors of the Boxer Rebellion, will appear in Fiction Vortex.
I’m quite chuffed that both these stories have found a home, and will announce their publication when appropriate.
